It was in high school through the student newspaper where I got my first introduction to working with print media. I went from a low level contributor position to being the Editor in Chief, where I was to have to final say in page layout designs. It was this experience that led me to pursue a journalism degree with the hope of designing layouts or broadcasting for the radio. I went to conferences such as the Nation Association of Black Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists. I also was a part of the ThreeSixty Journalism program throughout my time in high school.
In college I was disappointed that there was only one graphic design class offered in my program and decided to pursue more at the neighboring college. It was at the University of St. Catherine where I was able to take more print and graphic design courses and earn my minor in graphic design. In my studies I have had the opportunity to learn about Human Centered Design and how to apply it to all of my projects. I have learned how to construct specific mood boards, and the prototyping process.
Feel Free to check out my final project for my Computational Imaging class or my Data Publication website with some of my demos! Both are still a work in progress!
