KUST experience summary-- Though I am sad that I cannot share some of my recorded clips because of copyright reasons, I can describe to you the show I hosted and the positions I held. I was with KUST, a student lead online broadcasted radio station, for all four years through my undergraduate. I started as a DJ and intern on the club executive board. My show, The R&B 90, ran for over two years and I co-hosted with one of my friends. Every Wednesday night, we played 90 minutes of R&B, rap and hip hop music, chatted about the newest rap culture news and releases, and occasionally had local musicians on for interviews. Our slogan was, “the best R&B and hip hop on, THIS side of the Mississippi”.
I continued with KUST even after the show, as a Studio Manager and eventually as Station Director where I helped with organizing events, troubleshooting equipment and software and assisting with out rebranding efforts. I have done a few freelance projects, such as First Year Out, a podcast series about me and my friend Erianna Jile’s first year out of high school, one with KFAI and another with MPR.
